Meta’s Workplace is shutting down in a couple of months! This surprising news recently appeared in digital news portals. Workplace has been a key player in the global team collaboration market, with major users like Telefonica and BT Group, which together have 7 million users.
If you’ve been using Workplace, you might have been prompted to switch to Workvivo. However, many users are also considering Microsoft Teams or Slack. Microsoft Teams currently has 300 million users (as of 2023), and Slack is used by over 200,000 organizations worldwide. Experts expect these numbers to grow significantly with Workplace shutting down.
If you’re thinking about switching to Microsoft Teams or Slack, here are some ways LEAD.bot can enhance their already great features.

5 Reasons to Take Up Slack/MS Teams with LEAD.bot as Add-on After Workplace Shuts Down
Video & Audio Calls for Virtual Coffee Chats
No good team collaboration app is complete without an audio and video feature. That is why, both Slack and Microsoft Teams offer robust audio and video interface options. A key difference here is that Slack offers unlimited external video interfacing options and Teams only offers external collaboration options with paid plans and subscriptions.
Both audio and video interface options are an excellent way to conduct virtual coffee chats within teams. They can also be used to interface with members of other teams in larger organizations.
However, this is not intuitively so and users on both platforms should get LEAD.bot to make best use of these features. In fact, this is where Workplace had a lot to offer with its Organizational Chat feature which helped members find other members fast. They could use this to create virtual coffee chat schedules and mentoring sessions. Now, LEad.bot can help users automatically manage virtual coffee chats and streamline mentoring sessions on Slack and MS Teams. Here is how LEAD.bot helps with this employee engagement tactic:

Channels for Watercooler Moments
Both Slack and Microsoft Teams offer channels with Teams using the tag “teams” to denote channels. Teams offers options for creating multiple channels in one go. This is highly useful for bigger teams and makes creating and sorting different channels easy
Channels are the primary feature of both these collaboration apps and are used primarily for communication among teams. So, using that for team-building exercises via a watercooler (which we will mention below) is a smart idea. Workplace users will recall they used their knowledge libraries for microlearning and paired them with scheduled posts for watercooler moments. While both Slack and MS Teams have these options connecting them together to develop a watercooler interaction campaign or a mentorship program. This is where LEAD.bot comes in to fill the gap.

Will You Choose Slack or Microsoft Teams in Place of Workplace?
Conventionally, Slack has been a first pick for trendy and upstart businesses while MS Teams has been the choice for larger entities like enterprises and schools. A lot of new companies opt in for MS Teams even though they do not need enterprise-grade solutions. The reason is their doubts and apprehensions about Slack security but both Slack and MS Teams offer robust cybersecurity solutions. Meanwhile, MS Teams may become a paid software for those not subscribing to Office 365 and Slack has lost ground to MS Teams for its 3rd-party apps and the Workplace shut down will make competition even more intense.
LEAD.bot offers tremendous options to all kinds of businesses. It integrates directly with both Slack and Microsoft Teams, two of the most popular alternatives to Meta’s soon-to-be-defunct Workplace. Both Slack and Teams offer their own unique values with Slack being a high-functioning fave for small to mid-scale businesses and Teams being a go-to for large enterprises. Pick the right one for your business’ future and enjoy LEAD.bot’s tremendous organizational culture-building features with it!
